Professional answer

Before the visit, list the two or three issues you most want addressed this time, such as a symptom that affects daily life, unclear purpose of a test, or difficulty following the current plan. At the start of the appointment, state these concerns and let the clinician help prioritize based on the situation. Before leaving, confirm what was resolved today, what needs another appointment, and who is responsible for the next step. Any new or clearly worsening symptoms should be mentioned first.
