Patient question
When measuring blood pressure at home, how should the information be recorded to make it easier for the doctor to assess?

Professional answer
It is recommended to record the date, exact time, blood pressure readings, whether you were well rested at the time, whether you had just exercised or consumed stimulant drinks, and any discomfort such as dizziness or chest tightness. Bring the continuous records and a list of current medications to your appointment. The doctor will make an assessment based on properly taken measurements. Do not diagnose yourself or adjust medication based on a single reading.
