Record the time when the fever started, the highest temperature, any accompanying chills, breathing discomfort, chest discomfort, or fatigue, as well as recent medical procedures, infections, and all medications. Contact the doctor as soon as possible for evaluation. Do not self-administer leftover antibiotics. If there are changes in consciousness, severe difficulty breathing, or a marked worsening of circulation, seek emergency medical care immediately.
