Patient question
What conditions are not suitable for waiting for a regular outpatient appointment?

Professional answer
If there is sudden or significantly worsening chest pain, severe shortness of breath, fainting, altered consciousness, or sudden limb weakness, slurred speech, or similar symptoms, it is not appropriate to wait for a regular outpatient appointment. You should immediately contact local emergency services. Do not drive yourself, and do not delay emergency care due to online consultation. If symptoms are mild but recurrent, you should also contact a healthcare provider promptly for evaluation.
