Founded in 1984 and located in Beijing’s Chaoyang District, Beijing Anzhen Hospital, affiliated with Capital Medical University, is a Grade A Level III general hospital specializing in cardiovascular diseases with a focus on cardiopulmonary and vascular care. Coronary Heart Disease and Interventional Therapy

The Department of Cardiology at Anzhen Hospital consistently ranks among the top tier in China for the diagnosis and treatment of coronary heart disease:

Complex Coronary Interventions: We routinely perform highly complex interventional procedures, including left main bifurcation lesions, chronic total occlusions (CTOs), severely calcified lesions (using rotational atherectomy and pulsed-wave balloons), and diffuse long-segment lesions. Our annual volume of coronary interventions ranks among the highest in the country.
Precision Interventional Guidance: We extensively utilize intravascular imaging and functional assessment technologies, including intravascular ultrasound (IVUS), optical coherence tomography (OCT), and fractional flow reserve (FFR), to achieve “precision diagnosis and precision treatment.”

The Electrophysiology Center at Anzhen Hospital is one of the most influential electrophysiology centers in China:

Comprehensive Management of Atrial Fibrillation: We perform pulmonary vein ring isolation and modified atrial fibrillation ablation guided by a 3D mapping system, achieving high surgical success rates and low recurrence rates. We also offer a one-stop “atrial fibrillation ablation + left atrial appendage occlusion” procedure to reduce the risk of stroke and eliminate the need for long-term anticoagulation.
Complex Ventricular Arrhythmias: We lead the field in the mapping and ablation of ventricular tachycardia and premature ventricular contractions (PVCs) associated with structural heart disease. We have accumulated extensive experience, particularly in radiofrequency ablation for post-myocardial infarction ventricular tachycardia and arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy.
Cardiac Pacing and Defibrillation: We perform a large number of pacemaker, implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD), and cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT/CRT-D) implantations annually. The application of cutting-edge technologies, such as leadless pacemakers (Micra) and left bundle branch regional pacing (LBBP), is becoming increasingly mature.

Interventional Treatment for Structural Heart Disease

Anzhen Hospital is a pioneer and leader in the field of interventional treatment for structural heart disease in China:

Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR): With an early start and a large cumulative caseload, we routinely manage complex anatomical types such as bicuspid aortic valves and severe calcification, and the technique has become mature and standardized.
Transcatheter Mitral Valve Repair/Replacement: We were the first in China to implement large-scale transcatheter mitral valve clipping procedures (MitraClip/TEER), providing an effective minimally invasive treatment option for elderly patients and those at high surgical risk with mitral regurgitation.
Left Atrial Appendage Occlusion: Used for stroke prevention in patients with atrial fibrillation; our annual procedure volume ranks among the highest in the country.
Interventional Treatment of Congenital Heart Disease: We routinely perform interventional occlusion procedures for various congenital heart defects, including atrial septal defects, ventricular septal defects, patent ductus arteriosus, and patent foramen ovale.

Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CCU): Equipped with advanced monitoring devices, the unit has extensive experience in the comprehensive management of critical conditions such as acute myocardial infarction complicated by cardiogenic shock, fulminant myocarditis, and malignant arrhythmias.
Mechanical Circulatory Support: We are at the forefront in China regarding the clinical application of mechanical circulatory support technologies, including ECMO, intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP), and percutaneous left ventricular assist devices (Impella), providing life-saving support for patients undergoing high-risk PCI and those with cardiogenic shock.

Hypertension and Comprehensive Management

Specialized Diagnosis and Treatment of Hypertension: We conduct standardized blood pressure monitoring and screening for the causes of secondary hypertension (such as renal artery stenosis, primary aldosteronism, and pheochromocytoma), and are exploring the application of renal denervation (RDN) in the treatment of resistant hypertension.
